Oakland County ARPSC Dream Cruise and Parade of Cars Sign-Up

The Woodward Dream Cruise and Berkley Parade of Cars is back for 2024!!

The Oakland County Amateur Radio Service Corps has been requested by Berkley and Royal Oak to act as extra eyes and ears for the 2024 Berkley Cruisefest Parade of Cars and the 2024 Woodward Dream Cruise. The Oakland County ARPSC is an organization of amateur radio operators dedicated to providing organized communications in a time of need.

These events are conducted in three operational periods. The Berkley Parade of Cars, The Woodward Dream Cruise AM shift, and Woodward Dream Cruise PM shift. More Information on each operation period is below.

Operators will need to have a DMR capable UHF radio for this event as all operations will be conducted on the portable Oakland County ARPSC DMR repeater. Frequency, Color Code, slot, and talkgroup information will be provided as we get closer to the event. A limited number of loaner radios may be available for operators that do not have a DMR capable UHF radio.

Berkley Cruisefest Parade of Cars

Date and Time:	Friday, August 16, 4-9pm (Dinner served at 5)
Check-in Time:	Friday, August 16, 4-4:30pm
Check-in Location:	Berkley Community Center, 2400 Robina, Berkley
Description:	Check-in starts at 4:00pm. An ARPSC briefing will be held at 4:30pm followed by an event briefing and dinner at 5pm. After dinner operators will make their way to their assigned locations. 12 Mile Road will be closed from Woodward to Greenfield road around 6:00pm, with the parade starting at 6:30pm.

Woodward Dream Cruise

Date and Time:	Saturday, August 17 Morning Shift: 10am-3pm Afternoon Shift: 3pm-8pm
Check-in Time:	Morning Shift: 9am Afternoon Shift: 2pm
Check-in Location:	Berkley Public Safety, 12 Mile east of Coolidge Hwy
Description:	Check-in starts 1 hour before your assigned shift. A briefing will be held 30 minutes before the start of the shift. Operators will then make their way to their assigned locations.
